Cathy,

Bothermore is a small area of the City of Galway. Yes the one main road out of the town through this area is the Bothermore road. However there are other roads mainly round the Graveyard.

My father's family is from Bothermore and I maybe able to help you, in regards to advise on where to go.

The Family records office would hold Census records of 1901 and 1911 and with the 1907 date of birth you could see how many marching, name date of birth and area there are. Also they can check records for the Graveyard.

Contract me at (*)

Mike.

If you put "Morris" and Galway Town into Griffiths search

http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_start.php

There are 2 Morris owning houses in Bohermore
Grant in Tipperary

And if you go to the LDS search page

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/

with a lot of patience you should be able to find the reference to Mary Morris birth

You can then order the cert online from the Irish Registrar - actually you get the form online, then post it to them, and the cert arrives about a month later.

That should give you her parents and where they were living

Hi cathy m,

I wish you very well with your research and I hope that you do finally find Mary MORRIS.  The information and advice from corisande seems excellent.  Do let us know if you find Mary.

As there is a Bohermore in Co Galway, I think I'd persevere with that before checking out Bothermore.  They do look quite similar but I wonder about pronunciation?

Anyway, best of luck.

Kind regards,

JAP
