Thornton-le-Dale - SLIPPER
« on: Thursday 06 October 05 23:35 BST (UK) »
Hello, I wonder if anyone either in Thornton-le-Dale or who has access to the MIs could tell me if there is a gravestone there to a Florence Slipper and if so what it says. She was born around 1888 and died some time after 1939. She was the widow of Rev A A Slipper and from their marriage in 1932 they lived at Birch Lea.

Having done a google search for Birch Lea, it appears to be the name of some almshouses. However I think there must have been another property of that name as it was left to Florence in her husband's will.

Many thanks

Judith

Hi Oscar88

A warm welcome to RootsChat!  ;)

Thanks for this kind offer to lookup the MIs for Judith.  If you think you might be able to offer to do similar lookups for others you may wish to post something on the lookup offers board at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?board=276.0

Its up to you of course.

Thanks again.

Best wishes

Hello, Many thanks and apologies for the belated reply. Have discovered that she didn't die in Thornton-le-Dale, in fact she moved from there in 1939/40.
Thanks again,
Judith
