Charles Stirling Neilson of Falkirk
« on: Friday 07 October 05 22:18 BST (UK) »
Charles Stirling Neilson was born in 1854 Falkirk, the son of James Allan and Agnes Neil.  He is described in the 1882 inventory of James Allan, a farmer from Falkirk,  as 'Appraiser, Falkirk'.

I am seeking any information about Charles Stirling Neilson and his family and would be grateful for any assistance.

Hi

The children of James Neilson/Agnes Neil, born Falkirk :

31/01/1840 - James
15/02/1842 - Thomas
11/09/1843 - William
08/02/1849 - Norah
19/02/1852 - Theodore
05/01/1854 - Charles Stirling

If this is correct Charles Neilson, he was an Estate agent/Cattle salesman in 1881 census staying with elder brother Theodore and his family @ Falkirk

Hi

IGI has the following possibles @ Falkirk :

28/02/1871 - Norah Neilson married George William Gray

03/06/1867 - Thomas Neilson married Jane Cairns
26/11/1869 - Thomas Neilson married Elizabeth Symmers
18/06/1872 - Thomas Neilson married Elizabeth Mitchell

30/04/1867 - William Neilson married Ann Bishop
31/12/1874 - William Neilson married Jane Quin

and ScotlandsPeople has pages of Neilson marriages @ Falkirk alone.

Your best/cheapest option could be to try and find each in the 1881 census and take it from there.....
