Hallo, Joy

Could this be them on the 1901 Wales census?

7 Chapel Ter(?), LLandfodwy, Nantymoel, Glamorgan     (RG13/5045 fol 33 p57)

Robert Williams, head, 39, colliery supervisor, Merthyr Glam.
Alice Roberts, wife, 37, Cardiff, Glam.
Wm Roberts, son, 12, Nantymoel.
Rosalind Roberts, daughter, 10, Nantymoel.
Clara Roberts, daughter, 8, Nantymoel.

I can't find Olive or Aubrey with father Robert in either England or Wales for 1901

Probably the best way of pinning this down would be to get hold of a birth certificate (there can't be that many Aubreys around) to check the parents names and birthplaces.

All the best
Philip

Philip,
thanks for the info. Robert Williams was an Engineer so this could be the person although several people missing.
I will give it a go anyway. It helps knowing there is someone out there.
Thanks for your help

Getting hold of a birth certificate is just what I am trying to do, so I can continue. I will get there.

Hallo, Joy

These might be useful - I found them on FreeBMD:

Aubrey Ellis Williams born Jun 1888 Pontypool
Aubrey Williams, died Dec 1889 age 1, Newport, Monmouth

No guarantee that it's the same child, but it could account for him.  There are about a dozen Olive Williams born in Wales between 1880 and 1890 with no obvious deaths to match them, so that would be a tougher (and expensive!) search.

PS - in my previous posting for "Roberts" read "Williams - sorry for any confusion.

Good hunting!
Philip

Yes, thanks I understand when talking to my sister today in the UK that Aubrey died young so this could be the person.
I will find the family one way or another.
Thanks for taking time
