How many cities in Yorkshire?
« on: Saturday 08 October 05 09:28 BST (UK) »
Very slightly off topic - have uncovered a relation was Lord Mayor of Bradford in the  1960s - I think the following are Yorkshire cities. Can anyone add to this list or tell me I am wrong with any?

Leeds
Bradford
Hull
Sheffield
York
Ripon (cathedral usually means city)
Wakefield ditto

Thanks
Nick

For the recoird, I found a website that confirms the 7 listed. It's http://www.dca.gov.uk/constitution/city/citygj.htm if anyone is inclined to check for themselves. There are now 50 cities in England and 66 in the whole of the UK.

The third entry may cause some difficulty; it does not exist. ;-))
The correct name for Hull is Kingston upon Hull
