Great Grandfather David Kirk.

Trying to find any infomation about my Great grandfather David Kirk, born in Ireland1845 dont know my Great Grandmothers  name at all,he had a son my Grandfather called John Alexander Kirk born 1872. John Kirk moved to Middlesbrough later. All information gratefully recevied.

I presume you mean 1845! Have you looked for John Alexander Kirk's birth in the indexes? As he was born post 1864, it should have been registered. These are available at the Dublin GRO (in person or Roscommon by post) or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints) http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.

The register entry will (ok should) give his mother's name.
