Church register for HUNT Sandhurst
« on: Saturday 08 October 05 20:24 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Does anyone have access to the Parish Church registers for Sandhurst area?

I have an Edward Hunt born Oct 7th 1896 in Berkshire and his mother Annie E Hunt lives in College Town Camberley, I assume this is Sandhurst.

Can anyone help as trying to find the parents.

Many thanks

Hello,
Yes Sandhurst would be correct, College Town is now officially Sandhurst, Berkshire. Sandhurst is on the borders of all 3 counties, Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire, all just a stone's throw away!
College Town is where one of the main gates of entry to the Royal Military Academy is (where Prince Harry is).
What is it you need, you have his mother's name? are you asking for a look up of the baptism records for Edward Hunt born 7th Oct 1896?
I may be able to help, but at present I have a list of waiting requests, so as long as you don't mind waiting a bit longer...

Thanks Newbie

I searched the GRO indexes live and cannot find anyone in Sandhurst or College Town area, nearest one is Farnham.  I now know from the indexes that an Edward Hunt married a Florence Netherclift in Easthampstead RD which includes Sandhurst so can now find age and area and father.  Hopefully may be this 1896 one etc.

Cheers

HI again,
I did think  that if he was born in College Town it is nearer to go to Camberley than to Easthampstead, Farnham could well be the Registration District, College Town used to be College Town Camberley Surrey, and I think Farnham was the Reg.Dist.  def worth a try or try posting for a look up of the baptism in the Surrey board?
best of luck
