So impressed here is another ...
« on: Saturday 08 October 05 21:53 BST (UK) »
This one might be a little more challenging.  It is of my grandfather (soldier on the left) but quite a few crease lines on this one, not too much around the faces so hopefully it will come up quite nicely.  Thanks

Great efforts again by everyone, I can’t thank you all enough.  It’s a great little picture to have now.

Yes, correct my Grandfather was in the Northamptonshire Regiment and this picture was taken in 1921 when he was stationed at the Templemore Barracks in Ireland.  He came from a little village called Marston St Lawrence which is near Banbury.

Many thanks to you all once again!

Couldn't make anything more out of this than anyone else

It looked like quite an easy repair until I actually started doing it. Nightmare to get textures looking decent. I initially deleted all the white spots on the ground before realising they should be there, and removed his swagger stick thinking it was a scratch!

Kizmiaz how do you do it!!  The picture looks marvellous now, even their faces!  My grandfather looks so young I think it is the earliest picture I have of him.  Only wish he was alive today to tell me more about the picture and his friend.  I can remember him telling us stories about his days in Ireland and India but unfortunately a lot of it is a haze now, in one ear and out the other in those days only wish I had taped him!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
