1841 ..Welford on avon...District???

Hello there, I am hoping to find a birth in 1841 in WELFORD...but WHAT is the district it will be registered in???? I am really stuck at the moment as I cannot send for the certificate until I have this info. Actually the IGI has it as WOLFORD...am I on the right track by ASSUMING they meant WELFORD????   Thanks for any advice on this question       Margaret

Welford on Avon comes under Stratford on Avon registration district since 1st July 1837.

Whelford is due north of Swindon and due east of Cirencester, just south of Fairford and near the source of the river Thames.

This could be a candidate - but only if the Avon part is assumed rather than stated!
