old poem
« on: Monday 10 October 05 20:15 BST (UK) »
my gran taught me a poem when i was little and i was wondering if anyone knewit? I know of the tales of the fairies in the lanes and wondered whether this was the origin?

if you meet a fairy, don't run away
she doesn't want to hurt you she only wants to play
find a tiny present to give her when she go's
they like silver paper and pretty ribbon bows
sio if you meet a fairy remember what i say
talk to her nicely and don't run away
Guernsey = le sauvage, hooper, bullock, simon
yorkshire=clubley
kent=bailey/moore
staffordshire=yates
yes they moved about a bit
