Farms in Cilrhedyn

I would love to know whether two farms in Cilrhedyn still exist. They are Abergelech and Blaennant. They were owned by Sam Evans (solicitor general 1908 - 1910). They were given to his son Horace in a codicil to his will that was added 3 days before he died. Are they still occupied by members the Evans family? Can anyone help me locate them?

Googling produces a reference to a house for sale - sadly it was a few years ago, so no longer appears when you click on it

It is also referred to on an application for a Wind Farm!

Capel Iwan is easy enough to find on Multimap.com.  Many farms are named on Get a Map  http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/

To see where the properties were, have you tried www.old-maps.co.uk ?

You can use an address search as an alternative to a placename.

Thanks for that. I have looked at old-maps in the past, but they were difficult to read without buying the relevant map, and I didn't know which to buy cos I couldn't read them - IYSWIM

Just had another look and now you can view full screen, and it is a lot clearer, so will have another hunt around.

Just found Abergeletsh!!! on an OS map. That has to be a misprint for Abergelech doesn't it?

Yep. Just went back to www.old-maps.co.uk and it sure is Abergelech. OK I feel a letter coming on to the present occupants. Thanks again Arranroots..
