hi
The Rodgers I am looking for is  a James Rodgers whose son James Rodgers married a Ann Jane Dynes in approx January 1873 or I have been given the date also of December 1972 in the parish church of Knocknamuckly, Northern Island. Anns father was a John Dynes.  She was born 1850 and James Rodgers was born 1846.
They came out to New Zealand as there honeymoon.
The ship which they left on was shipwrecked in the Bay of Biscay.  they waited for another ship the Edwin Fox and sailed from Brest during March 1873.
I am hoping to track down James Rodgers Senior and his wife and any relevant information on them, also on the Ann's parents.  If anyone is tracing this line i have a lot of information i can pass onto them.
Thank you for your help
Rodgers, Dynes

Hi,

Have you looked for their marriage in the indexes? As they were married post 1864, it should have been registered. Check the reference matches for each name and that’s the right page. These are available at the Dublin GRO or on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints)
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.

Then you have to take the reference to the Dublin GRO for a copy of the register entry. www.groireland.ie

The marriage cert will give you both the father's names, their occupations and addresses and sometimes whether they are dead. The witness names can sometimes be useful.

What do you want to know, I am a descendent, I don’t know a lot but I can put you in contact with people who have this family tree and know it well, I only looked it up as I met a distant cousin last week and found up by pure fluke and are a little more interested in the links now.  When I googled I found your post

Jenny hasn't been online since 2006 but did post her email address on another thread (may or may not still be valid).
