Help needed to find Beaumonts in BURVA
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 08:12 BST (UK) »
Can someone help in my search to find information
about Thomas Beaumont & Ann Davies please?

Ann was the wife of Thomas Beaumont and according
to the 1851 census Ann was born in Burva Herefordshire
about 1780.    Her daughter Rebecca is also shown on
this census as having been born in Burva and until I
found this reference only days ago I had no idea
where Burva was!
Even now I'm confused - is it in Wales or Herefordshire?

The question I need help with is to find more information
about Ann's birth and to try to see if her son, William Beaumont,
was also born in Burva about 1814.

It is believed Thomas Beaumont died about 1814 and Ann
about 1851.

William went to Australia in 1839 and named his
first home "Burva" which we now know was his
mother's birthplace!

Hello again kmo -
Love the photo of the old farm, it
really does look very old and
beautiful.

Hope you don't mind if I ask you
a questions?

Who was Offa?

Thanks kmo - it's great to be able to
look at pictures relating to our family
history, it really adds life to the story and
makes the people seem more real.

Your help is much appreciated

Thankyou Morgan.
I found where William Beaumont's house  called "Burva" in Australia was. It was in Regent Street near the railway.
