Census advice needed
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 20:43 BST (UK) »
Hello;

Hoping for some advice on what census/s survive.

I have the following birth certificates:

Hugh John Dearden born 1864
Mary Jane Dearden born 1868
James Joseph Dearden born 1869
Joseph Dearden born 1875

All born in Drogheda, Louth.  I have no marriage for their parents Charles and Mary Ann Donnelly.

I cannot locate any of them.  I thought perhaps they went to Liverpool as that is where the youngest Joseph showed up in 1895.

I had written to the church of where the children were, but no marriage was found.

I have been told that Charles was a Blockmaker.

Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely;
Cas

Hi,

Remember it was traditional to marry in the bride's parish. I would check other nearby parishes. Do you know the religion?

Regards

Kate

Hello Kate;

So sorry it has taken me so long to reply.  Been having some problems with the old computer and had to take it in.

I believe this family was Catholic.  I do know that they were not married at this church because the Priest was kind enough to look for me.

After 5 years, I am still stuck with this family.  I will take a look at other nearby churches.  I hit a lot of stumbling blocks being in Canada.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it!!!!!

Sincerely;
Cas
