Until I looked at the new versions I hadn't seen the curtains, I suppose the scribbles were too dominant.

Sorry I lied - Played with the overall colour trying to give it a "I am starting to fade look"  ??? and ran it through neat image

Once again thank you all for making the photograph look so much better.  I'm spoilt for choice. I think I ought to find out what the medal is. It was obviously proudly worn, whatever it was for.
