There is a monument in woods near Street, Somerset to Hungerford Colston DCL, son of William Hungerford Colston. William was the rector of West Lydford Church and his son was mortally wounded when a gun was accidentally discharged while out shooting with friends. He died Oct 30th 1852. The monument was erected by his sister.

The Berks FHS have a records in their 'stray info' that there is a plaque to Mary Colson, wife of William at the church in West Lydford on the north wall of the chancel dated 1829.
