GIBSON family York-any link with Hayes, Middx.?
« on: Saturday 15 October 05 18:43 BST (UK) »
In 1871 Harriet Folly, of Hayes, Middx., married James Gibson, a widower from Tadcaster, in the Parish Church of St. Thomas, York.  James was a plasterer by trade, and his father was Francis Gibson, a weaver.
The mystery I am trying to solve is how they came to meet in the first place, and I suspect there may have been a prior family connection.   They may perhaps have been cousins, or otherwise distantly related.
If you are researching the Gibson family in and around York in the early and mid 19C, and the above rings any bells, I should be delighted to hear from you.
Fingers crossed  ???
