A very faded James, Lucy and Kate
« on: Monday 17 October 05 20:19 BST (UK) »
I have been in awe of the differences made to personal photos posted and would like to ask for help with my photo of my g.g.grandfather and his sisters taken in the late 1880s in Bangalore. It is very faded and the sister on the right is almost ghostly - I appreciate you cannot do anything about her expression which doesn't help ;D ;D

A very big thankyou to you all. Each picture worked on helps pick out different components from the original picture for me, I cannot believe those weird lace things the girls are wearing on their heads! But most importantly I have far more definition on their faces now.

thanks again

Margaret

I have tried not to overdo it, and give an hint of colour via focus

Thankyou Man of Kent - what talent :).  Your subtle colouring has got me wondering now whether the girls wearing dark/black sashes and James wearing a dark tie is signifigant - or is this just the style for the period.
If anyone has any thoughts on this I would be  interested to hear?
