Scottish regiments Leeds 1918
« on: Monday 17 October 05 21:08 BST (UK) »
My partner's mother was born when her mother ws "between husbands".  We have a photo of the supposed father in Scottish uniform taken around the end of WW1.

The man in question, acc to family folk lore, died of flu before his daughter was born and before he had chance to marry the mother.  I cannot find any evidence of his  death around that time in Leeds (part from an infant) so that bit may not be true at all.  He may have gone back to wife and children in Scotland for all we know.

But I would like to check it out a bit more - does anyone out there know which Scottish regiments were based in Leeds at the end of WW1?

any help or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll have to work out how to do that first, are there any instructions on the forum on uploading images?  I tried to load one into my profile a few days ago and failed

then again as it is relatively (well in family history terms anyway)  recent - 1918 - there's always the possibility someone out there might say - HEY THAT'S MY DAD or grandad - and it could cause embarassment to someone.  ??? what do you think?
