Hi Alli
not at all - thanks very much for posting this. This has been bugging me for years now so all info, whether it rules in or out, is gratefully received!
Hmmm Wolverhampton - it would fit with the baptism record and I suppose with rounding of ages Rachel could just about be the mother. Or she could have the family trait of lying about her age - my Rachel does this with each and every census and occassion, sort of a Joan Collins of the 19th century.
I know that my Rachel's father was dead by 1858 (when she remarried again) & that he was a chairmaker - which would fit with wood turner and also the area. John Walker her first husband (and my ggg grandfather) was also a wood turner.
Will try and track William & Rachel D on the 1851 census to see if it gives any additional information and to find birth places.
Thanks again
Sue
