1901 Leftovers: Done <--> Not Done

Is there a page which states which parishes/places are done and not done?  Only it's going to be somewhat frustrating spending time transcripting pages only to submit them and get an email back saying "sorry, we already have that" or words to that effect.

In principle, Yes !

At the top of the page there is a search button: "Search Pi//Fo//Pa"

If you enter your pages there, it will either present you with data (meaning: "it's already been done") or it will present you with an  empty output page:

"Searching for Piece/Folio/Page: 3//3//3   /   Number of records found: 0 "

meaning that it hasn't been done !

The only possible problem, is in that the submissions from the last 6 weeks (25 so far) haven't been added yet. In about two weeks time I should have some free time again, and that is the first job on my list !

Thanks for your query Silverhawk, as it has given me an idea:
I wll try adding a list of "new submissions" i.e. submitted but not yet entered in the database. If I enter in this list as soon as I receive it, then at least would-be submitters have a better chance of knowing what's already being tackled.

ps.  And anyway, I would never send anybody an e-mail "sorry, we already have that" - I'm far too nice 

And besides, I would use the second submission to check against the first one, so it certainly isn't wasted work.

Bob, whenever I access the leftovers site it says the database was last updated in October 2004??? which confuses me. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Because from what you said in your last message that doesn't look right. Any clarification much appreciated!

Hi Veron,

No, there's nothing wrong - the database hasn't been updated since 2004.

Unfortunately, what with problems after transferring to the new server, and to a combination of family and work problems, I haven't been able to add anything new yet.

This should be resolved in the next few weeks, and I can start adding the 60+ new pages, that RootsChatters have been sending me since August.

So keep watching that line, one day it will change - promise !!!

No, there's nothing wrong - the database hasn't been updated since 2004.
