The names of Findlay, McDougall, Hardie, Rae and Watson are all found in this area. As none of the names mentioned would have been born at the time of the 1881 Census, I have not listed the families. I notice Jane Neil or O'neil lists her birthplace as Shotts on 1881 census and Clackmannan on 1861 index.

Arthur's 1855 birth cert. will list parent's age and place of birth

Hi, I live in New Zealand and Im researching the O'Neil/Neil family from Shotts, Scotland .  My GGGrandfather was Arthur Neil and he married Agnes Johnston Elder, they came to N.Z. Arthur Neils parents were Arthur O'Neil 1821-1892 married Janet Smith 1826-1901.  Arthur Neil Born 1821 his parents were John O'Neil married Agnes Wylie.
