Thomas DOWNS - born abt. 1831

Looking for any information about Thomas DOWNS born abt. 1831 in County Donegal.

Thomas' parents were Hugh DOWNS & Martha DOWNS (m.s. ANDERSON) married ?.

Thomas had a brother, William DOWNS born abt. 1838.

Thomas married Rebecca COLQUHOUN in Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1853.

He died in Glasgow, Eastwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1924.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

There'd be no harm looking at families named Downes as well as Downs. There was no one by the name of Downs listed on the 1796 Flax Growers list in Co. Donegal but there was one listing for Downes ...

I may as well link your Rebecca COLQUHOUN - born abt. 1832 thread to this one.

I've looked at the Griffiths Valuation extracts for Co. Donegal. The Vakuation of the county took place in 1857 and again there is not a listing for Downs although there is one for Downes. The Valuations are on John Hayes failteromhat.com site
