Restorers Etiqette - Q&A
« on: Monday 24 October 05 07:07 BST (UK) »
The topic is locked so I can't add a question.

May I ask why this decision has been made?

If someone adds a watermark to an image then how is the person requesting the fix going to add it to their album if its got two images plastered across it?

Or am I just missing something ???

Hi Zeb,
Which topic was it that you were wanting to post to?  I haven't come across the watermark situation before, could you explain that please?
Cheers
Prue

There's a new sticky at the top of this forum thats locked and posted by deadants.

Ah, right - sorry I didn't see the sticky there.  :-[

Well, I don't know why questions can't be posted on it, if it's called "Q&A", but I'm sure deadants can sort that out post haste.

Meanwhile, the way I understand it is that if you have requested a fix, the person who has done the fix will email you a copy without the watermark on it, and the copy they post on the board can either be with or without the watermark.

I'm assuming that this new "regulation" is due to some restorers being unhappy about others using their restoration work as a basis for further restoration or colouring on the part of other users.

Cheers
Prue

Yes Prue has explained it nicely. If they are happy with it, you can make arrangements via a PM with the owner to email your work without the watermark.

You don't have to watermark it you don't awant to. Just post your efforts as is.

Good rule deadants  :) - but shame we have to have them  :'( - For me I will not be using the watermark, if someone can show me how to improve my attempt "great" that adds to my understanding, learning and skill development.

But each to his/her own I suppose.

Removed - my work
Added - my attempt

I also will not be putting a watermark on any of my efforts.
I never consider any of the images I play around with,"MY WORK" or property.
My enjoyment remains, and  with thanks to the original poster and owner, for allowing me to Play with their property.
There you go,it's  the way the world is going I suppose. :'(
PC freindly!!? ???

My comment not aimed at the list owners or reason for the Watermarking suggestion.
