Hi again Casalguidi!
Yes I have the one about the 1861 School in Middlesex, and I thought the one in York (1881 and 1901) was George, but after investigating the Marriage on bmd not so sure. Found this one today Marriage for George Camden Busby Dec.1879 "Steyning" 2b 538 (Martha Woolland - wife) which are the two in York 1891, 1901, at the Industrial Boys School! I don't know where the "Camden" came from? Not a name I know? I might still have the right family....sometimes feelings tell you maybe not! Just not real sure???
Just wish I could find a relative over in the U.K. who knows of this family!
I've managed to find his sisters marriages, all in York from 1857 to 1859.
Found people on the fringe of the family, but a bit closer would be nice after all this time of searching!
A question for you?
I've been given this from another researcher in Canada! for a Military Birth Volume R.A.17 110 for Sarah ,Elizabeth, Mary Ann and Joseph Busby! Do I order these from GRO or elsewhere? If I get one of these Certificates, I might be able to work out who their mother was! Would her name be mentioned?
Sarah was born Newcastle upon Tyne 1835
Elizabeth was born Newcastle upon Tyne 1837
Mary Ann was born Limerick 1839
Joseph was born Dublin 1841
Lucy was born Woolwich, Kent 1843
and George was born either Middlesex, London or Westminster c 1848
There was a George Busby Born in Westminster 1848.
(I've asked Wesminster Reg. if they could tell me if this one is my George or not!...waiting on a reply!
The last two are not on Military Bmd. But people searching for me can't find Lucy. I got her date of birth/Christening from IGI. She may not have been registered?
ON the 1851 Census the birth places for some of the children are different!
3 Causton Court, Westminster Joseph Busby Father is not mentioned
Ann Busby 37 Northumberland Married (I don't know her maiden name?)
Elizabeth Busby 13 Limerick dau
Mary Ann Busby 11 Dublin dau
Joseph Busby 9 ? son
Lucy Busby 7 Woolwich,Kent
George Busby 3 Middlesex, London / son
Sarah the eldest Daughter is also not there!
Sarah Married William Thomas in York 1857
Elizabeth Married Joseph Pritchard in York 1857
Lucy married Joseph Bond in York 10/03/1859 (Father Joseph Busby. Pensioner (Chelsea)
Is there any other George Busby's born in London c1848 with a Father Joseph Busby and a Mother Ann? On Census records?
I can't seem to find the parents after Lucy and Joseph's marriage in 1859. They could have gone anywhere, I guess!
Hugh Murray from York Cemetery tells me there is a Joseph Busby buried there who died 1865. If it's their brother, he would have been about 24!
That's about it for now....until I find something else on this Family of mine!
According to Military records Joseph Busby was born Althorp Warwick c1811
He may have a Military Marriage? maybe! I asked Nat. Ar. for anything to do with the family, but only received his Military Dischage Papers and when his pension was to start. Discharged to 11 Douglas Street,Westminster. They moved to Causton Court, Westminster.
We've just had a bad Electrical Storm over here on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.... Cable TV and Computers had to be shut down, as being in the Country....the power often dips or goes off for a time! We should be having nice "Sunny Days" now, not wet and miserable!
bi for now,
Jenni
