No relation or finds for the Clancy surname (except within the Glamorgan Wales board) Thought I would inform you that there seems to be a DNA Irish Clancy study taking place.

Surnames in Project include : Clancy

Source from the IRISH-DNA Mailing List

This list is for discussing results of Irish dna projects.More technical subjects should be posted to GENEALOGY-DNA-L-you can subscribe  by emailing GENEALOGY-DNA-L-request@rootsweb.com

Hi peterreddick

Just to say I have seen your request for John Clancy of Rahoon on several forums over a few years now.  I too have a mysterious John Clancy of Galway for a great GrandFather, whom I estimate was born around 1850- could be earlier, but have no strong reason to link him to yours. This one ended up in Australia.  Does this eliminate him from further investigation for you?

good luck hunting

My g-granfather Matthew , DOB 1891, had 2 brothers. Patrick Clancy who came to Pittsburgh with Matthew in 1925 and brother John Clancy who lived in Galway. Their father's name was Patrick ( or Peader) Clancy.

Does this help? Hopefully we're talking about same Clancy line.

If it is let me know.
