Thanks very much for your help.

It makes it so much harder when the names are mispelt. didnt try burham.

So it looks like Daniel the other elder bareham (burham) could have been his brother.

Is there a father to stephen burham mentioned??

And thanks again i appreciate that

I am afraid in family history, you can never presume. :-\

Even though the census say Stephen senior was born in Lt. Clacton I have been unable to find a baptism for him there.

Just picked up on this trail and I am currently researching my maternal family. I am grandson of Nellie Eliza Bareham. She is daughter of Isaac Joshua bareham, who was born at little Clacton about 1857. His Father was Paul Bareham, a marine dealer from Little Clacton who was married to Sarah Forrest, and he and a brother Charles were baptised on the same day in march1807. Maybe they were twins. Paul & Charles were sons of Charles Bareham born 1774 Poslingford with other siblings in Poslingford. Charles snr. was married to Elizabeth Potter, and had a brother Daniel born 1770 Clare, Suffolk, who was married to Ann Herbert. With exception of Daniel, other siblings all from Poslingford. Their father was Edward Bareham who was born 1737 & married to Sarah Cutmore, and a second marriage to a Lucy Bright Bradbourne, and Edward's father was also called Edward who marries a Honor Sawmon or Sawman
No more to date though. Any more info would be helpful. Terry Powell

I come down the side of Stephen Bareham son of Daniel Bareham and Ann Herbert.
Stephen married Mary Turner on 7th April 1824. They went on to have 9 children, one of them being Stephen jnr, he married Sarah Ann Bareham in 1849 in little clacton. One of there children being Edward born 1859 in little clacton (he is my Gt Grandfather). His son George is my granddad.
Sarah Ann Bareham who is mentioned marrying Stephen descends from Charles Bareham son of Daniel and Ann.
Hope this makes sense.
