Hi there

after enlarging the image I think that it looks like Grass--- but the capital T for Terrace has overwritten the end of the word so I can't see further lettering.

Do you live locally to Liverpool? Is it possible to visit local church to see the original page of register?

Regards Crowfeet.

in your original posting, somebody put a list of Liverpool streets and there was a Comus Terrace, could this be a possibility?

I live in Durham so not likely to go to see the original in situ,  :)
I'm sure it is just one word, the family were from Hanley castle in worcs, and were merchants and probably quite well off at the time, if that helps
thanks to everyone thats helped so far  ;D

I think it is Worcester. That would make sense.

With all the history on all of this (hi Shaun  :), you were there from the beginning!) Worcester makes so much sense with what we have on the history of it all...

So possibly Worcester for normal residence but christened (so much later) at Liverpool Christ church when Elizabeth was there? We have never finalised the likely year of Benjamin's death have we, other than having the details of Elizabeth's second marriage in Liverpool a few years later.

Don't kick yourself  :o...we have plucked every single feather out of nowhere on this one  ;D www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=396752.0  One of my favourite ever research people is John Ballard Lloyd, the rouge  :-X

Benjamin's death

We don't know the precise date. The death announcement just says:

"In Russia, Mr. Benj. Lloyd, son of Mr. Lloyd, of Hanley Castle, near Upton-upon-Severn."
