Lanarkshire / Gordon Gordon-Smith
« on: Friday 25 October 19 12:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Again this is all part of my WW1 projects.  Gordon Gordon-Smith was a an author and journalist during WW1. He spent much of his time in Serbia WW1.    I have much of his works.  What I can't find is a DOB and DOD. I know he studied journalism at Glasgow uni in 1887.  But that is all I have.  Interestingly, I am also looking to find out about Margot Gordon-Smith who also spent time in Serbia 1919.  I would think they are brother and sister?

If you can help please do. I had a look on SP but drew a blank.

Thank you for looking

Hello and thank you for looking,

This is not my usual WW1 Scottish Women's Hospital search. But another incredible lady who during WW1 had a remarkable largely untold story. I have been told she was born in London 1885.  That could be wrong but certainly fits.  Her war years we know of but desperately seek her DOD.  I believe her mother was Scottish and the family lived in Edinburgh. I wonder if anyone can help me with place and date of death?   She had one of her many books last published in 1957 so I would assume her death was after that.

Many thanks

Northumberland / Beatrice Coxon
« on: Monday 29 April 19 18:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

Dr Beatrice Coxon received her medical education at the Edinburgh School of Medicine for Women, from where she qualified in 1909. Her name was included in the Medical Directory for Scotland on 22 October 1909. Dr Coxon held the post of House Surgeon at the Alnwick Infirmary, Northumberland (1910) and was Resident Medical Officer of the Hospice in Edinburgh and Resident Medical Officer and Lecturer at Battersea Bridge, Clapham Maternity Hospital. In 1910, she was elected member in the North of England Branch of the British Medical Association.  A newspaper article suggests she was from Northumberland.  But all I need is her Date of birth and Date of death. If anyone can help this would be fantastic.

Hi,  Looking for the Date of birth and Date of death of both sisters Kate and Mabel.  Both served in Serbia during WW1 and I have plenty of other information. But the dates are what I don't have.

Dr Kate King-May Atkinson and Dr Mabel Eliza King-May were sisters born in London who had both trained in Manchester and had held brief posts at Oldham Infirmary.

If you can help I would very much appreciate it.

Cheers
