They married in Mallow, Aghadowey. (Reply #2)

I've only been to Co. Cork once so don't have much info and no relatives there.

Mallow could refer to the town or the area. Unfortunately 1837 is well before the start of civil registration which means searching for church records (if they exist).
There are some Cork church records on this site and I believe more will be added in the future-

There is a baptism record for Margaret Agnew on the Family Search Pilot site:

20 May 1838, Ballyglogh parish, Cork  Parents - Samuel Agnew and Mary

and, same source, which is where Joanne might have got the info is ~

Marriage - Sam. Agnew  and  Mary Anne Cudmore on 13 April 1837, Mallow Parish, Cork

I'm wondering if this was Samuel's second marriage, given the 7 year old son on the passenger list.

Hi, Many thanks for this - so - if Samuel ? married twice  - given James was 7n1/2 - where would we go for Samuel's first marriage.  Never gave it a thought re the age of James.

Hi, thanks for all your help.  Checked out the Irish Gene site and this is just fantastic if they belonged to the RC church.  On the Shipping records Mary Anne states she is Protestant.
