Passenger lists in UK records only start in 1890, so you have to look at US records?
(Ireland was part of the UK before 1922!)

Try http://www.libertyellisfoundation.org for starters! ;D

Hi,

There are a lack of early passenger lists but have you tried New York Passenger Lists 1820 - 1891 on

Of course they could have gone via Canada -

Do you mean that Robert Brown went to U.S. and died in Ohio before 1823 but some children stayed behind, went to Scotland and died there?

Robert brown and family went to Guernsey ohio and he died there about 1823. I did not know if all the family went.but someone has sent me a list of all the family in Guernsey ohio on this link. you see I have one of there sons joseph brown getting married in Girvan Scotland and one of there sons getting married in Ireland. and I have one of there daughters getting married in Guernsey ohio and I have her right up till the present day. that is why I did not know who all went to the usa and who stayed behind but all the family moved to Guernsey ohio so not I need to find out when some of them moved back to Britain

You'll need to make sure that all the people you have found are all from the same family (it's easy to end up tracing the wrong person if you assume records found belong to them).

Starting with whoever ended up in Scotland you could trace them (Scottish records tend to be much more comprehensive than Irish ones).

Unfortunately you are looking at dates well before the start of civil registration in Ireland and the first complete census is 1901.
