Horace Edward RUSH/RUSHBY & Ellen ‘Ella’ ANDERSON family

Greetings to all,

I am searching for descendants of Horace Edward Rush/Rushby who died in 1943 at Temora NSW & his wife Ellen ‘Ella’ Anderson she was born around 1909 in Forbes, NSW they were married about 1925 around Temora NSW.  We think Horace’s parents may have been named George & Eliza Rushby, Ellen's parents were James Mason Anderson and Sophia Tindall.

We think Horace & Ellen 'Ella' Rushby may have had the following children.

1. Margaret Sophia Rushby married 1943 at Temora to Walter Jordan, she died unknown date
2. Thelma Grace Rushby married 1946 at Temora to Ernest Richards, she died 16th Jan 2010 Temora NSW
3. John Rushby
4. Frank George Rushby, born Cobar NSW sometime between 1925 to 1935, now dead
5. Eric Rushby

Frank George Anderson/Rushby was married and it was said he had 9 children, one of whom we think was named Julie

We need some help please to find out who Frank was married to and who the other remaining children listed above were married to, and if they had any children or if grandchildren were born?

you can apply online and get the death certificate for about $28 it should list where and when he was born his parents names and the names of his children.  The information of the death certificate will be only as good as the informants knowledge of the deceased.

Copy of his marriage certificate will give where and when born and his parents details  this information should be accurate as he is giving the information.


It would appear the George Henry Rushby and his wife Eliza Margaret died at the same time in 1941 at West Wyalong as their death registration numbers are only 10 apart.

Hi There,

In 1909 the birth of Ellen ANDERSON daughter of James and Sophia was registered in the Forbes District. The NSW BDM reference is #24863   A transcript of that bc should help you identify any older siblings for Ellen, and confirm the maiden surname for her mother...  That could help in your search for descendants.

In 1925 a Horace E RUSH (not indexed as RUSHBY) married Ella (not indexed as Ellen) ANDERSON in the Temora District. The NSW BDM reference is #14678...A transcript of the 1925 m.c. should provide information about both the bride and groom, and their parents, and help to confirm or eliminate the 1909 bc for the Forbes registration of Ellen Anderson. It would also provide names of the witnesses, who may be family members.  It may even help sort out any confusion between RUSH and RUSHBY for the groom's surname.

Re George Henry RUSHBY

The NSW SRO online index shows they hold the probate packet for him, with his d o d 15 Oct 1941 and probate granted 21 Aug 1944 ...  this is an unusual delay, and perhaps the file may have a depth of detail including family members who benefited from the estate's administration.  There is an option on the link to order a copy of that file.
