Apologies for this long post
Hi there,
Now that I understand that Mary born 1902 was not registered in the Dubbo district, but was registered in the Cowra district, and that Sophia BORN 1904 was also not registered in the Dubbo district but was registered in the Forbes district, I have edited my earlier post #10. Here are the Electoral Roll entries for ANDERSON from the NSW 1903 Electoral Roll, hardcopies of which are in my offline resources. The 1903 roll is the first NSW roll to include females. Alas, I still have not found James (Mason) Anderson nor Sophia Anderson (his wife). It was not compulsory to enrol.
NSW ER 1903 CANOBOLAS, polling at Forbes .... All for the surname ANDERSON (I have not looked at rural polling places nearby to Forbes)
Alexander, farmer , Pine Vale
Alexander Mackey, carrier , Forbes
Alice, milliner, Sheriff-street, Bald Hills
Jane, domestic duties, Sheriff-street
Louisa, domestic duties, Pine Vale
Mary Jane, domestic duties, Sheriff-street
NSW ER 1903 MACQUARIE, polling at Cowra .... All for the surname ANDERSON (I have not looked at rural polling places nearby to Cowra)
Alexander, senior, carrier, West Cowra
Edward, farmer, Milton
Elizabeth, domestic duties, Cowra
Elizabeth, domestic duties, West Cowra
Emanuel, farmer, Milton
Emanuel Sydney, farmer, Milton
John, labourer, Glen Logan
John, farmer, Milton
Sarah, domestic duties, Wallaroos
Susan, domestic duties, Wallaroos
I NOTE HOWEVER, that there is a glimmer of hope ... On the Cowra roll for 1903 there is a Henry Mason MAKER, a labourer. I note this simply because it MAY be (and of course may NOT be) that the surname of the witnesses for the 1891 marriage of James Anderson and Sophy Tindell, is MAKER. This may be where the “Mason” as a likely middle name for James ANDERSON is connected.
NSW ER 1903 MACQUARIE, polling at Cowra ALL for the surname MAKER
Charlotte, domestic duties, Cowra; Mary, domestic duties, Cowra; Sarah, dressmaker, Cowra; Amy, domestic duties, Cowra; Annie, domestic duties, Cowra; George, labourer, Cowra; Henry Mason, labourer, Cowra; Richard, cook, Cowra; Richard, junior, labourer, North Logan; ....
Cheers, JM
