Essex / Re: Cassells/Seaman family

Many thanks for your reply.
I only dip into research now and again, and each
time it's a learning curve.
I am always confused as to whether the search should be by maiden
name or married name.
Can you recommend a professional researcher?
Thank you.
Geoff.

Hi David - I believe her parents were Catherine McCorry and John Cassells.
Catherine was born in 1837 in Analoist,Shankill, County Armagh gave birth  aged 18 to Mary in 1855, married aged 30 in 1867, died aged 72 in Oct/Dec.1909 in Lurgan, County Armagh. They were listed as Roman Catholics.
(Authority:- Ireland Civil Registration Indexes, 1845 - 1958, entry Lurgan,Oct/Dec., vol.1, p 510.
of which I have a copy)

As birth certificates were not compulsory until 1864 it is difficult to be certain I have the right person.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Kind regards from
Geoff.

Tried sending some attachments but they are too big.
If you reply to my email I will send them by conventional email and not from within this website.

Hullo Chrissy - I have much information on the Seaman family including Elisha. Mary Cassells was my great grandmother, her mother was Catherine McCorry born 1837 from Analoist in County Armagh.
I can confirm William being born in St.Osyth in 1890.
Not sure how to let you have it all the paperwork. I live in Burnham-on-Crouch, how is it best to contact each other outside of this website?

Thanks to those who replied, especially the reminder about the rules.
I am now discontinuing this matter as it was to help an aged relative.
They will now pursue the matter on their own.
Maybe the Moderator would like to delete the entire thread?

Sorry - I don't know if any of them are alive.
How can I find out if I don't search on a family history site?
