I saw pictures of a page from the 1821 Census , it had the name, ages and even occupation.  At the Shropshirearchives.org.uk  I was even hopeful as I read "during covid, we had time to scan most of 1821" but when I search or try to view, its not available.   Most sites are still not even showing a 1821 census. https://www.freecen.org.uk/ does not have it listed.  You would think if it is on a CD, it could be online.  but i guess its all about the $$$ :(

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Aston Lane, ASTON, Wellington, Shropshire, England

Wellington's 1770 map indicates ASTON on Aston Lane was part of Wellington.  (South West)
Confusing as it seems to become part of Wrockwardine, and Wellington, and Little Wenlock,,,,

Aston is really seems to be more a farm, then a village with church etc.
Aston Hall, (2) Aston Farm areas, Aston Farm House, and #5 Aston.

But I am finding very little history on the families that were there.

My gggrandfather John Hughes may of been born on that farm in 1830.

Anyone have any sources?

A one off birth, any other sign? :-\
TIMMIS, JOHN
Mother's Maiden Surname: HISCOCK
GRO Reference: 1858  M Quarter in KENSINGTON  Volume 01A  Page 13

Possibly a few of the others with the same GRO ref have Paddington area baptisms.

Just in case! Mention a John Timmis, 20, born Shropshire, a soldier, in New Windsor in 1851. FamilySearch says born Wellington, but ancestry say Whittington. Could be either!

LATE EDIT!
1851 Worldwide Army Index has a John Timmis, reg no 5879, Private 1st (Or Grenadier) Regiment Of Foot Guards

I had often wondered about John Hughes' 1871 Census Birth location of "Aston, Shropshire".  51',61' & 81' all said "Wellington" (Which has a few associated towns and villages)  But Aston was just a small area, really just a farm "Aston Farm" at the base of the Wrenkin.  A lot has changed but not the view.  I have thought, what better place for a "Brewer" to start his career then on a farm growing plants for brewing (I do not now what is grown on that farm, but i read somewhere it may be "hops".  Only had that one Census, but if you found a "Hiscock" (unique name for me) to be in that same area, would further the theory that he may of been born on that farm.  Or at very least met a relative of his future wife.

The transcriptions for this name are awful.,
Hannah 8 is with her parents William and Rachel in 1841, as Hisnett.

lol, yes they are, I guess they were at the mercy of whom ever was the person recording the record.  Since they could only sign by making their "Mark", "X".

I don't think you can assume the marriage would be in bride's home parish. Do you have a birth certificate for John born in Paddington? Wondering if he was son of John or just of Hannah.

I'd spotted her in 1851 and her baptism in Henley. Then John is born in Paddington c. 1858. Next sighting is in Kings Norton in 1861. No sign of a marriage for John Hughes & Hannah Hiscock, but could she have been married before so she married with a different surname?

I have not been able to find a Birth Cert for John Hughes born in Paddington, Middlesex with a mother named "Hannah" in the years 1857 to 1858. :(

1891 Yes.  I am assuming 1861 as parents dates and locations match.
Interesting that son "John" would be born in Paddington, Middlesex.
34 miles from Hannah home town of Henley.  Maybe father John Hughes was stationed in military there? unknown.
