You can just purchase the individual records as below.
Click on the newspaper image, click upgrade or pay to view, scroll down to commitment shy to find the price. The example is same date and paper.

Thank you for that! It was only 50p to purchase a copy so that's what I did! Very interesting to read! I guess he never mentioned it as it was probably a very embarrassing incident of a hot headed young man!

Thanks all

Lincolnshire / Newspaper Lookup help
« on: Saturday 21 October 23 20:50 BST (UK)  »
Randomly today I found out my Dad had been naughty during his youth and it made the local paper!! I am joined up to findmypast but only as a free member. However they mentioned in an email that I had some family mentions in newspapers! Indeed my dad is mentioned in an article on 15 September 1967 in the
Spalding Guardian, based in Spalding, Lincolnshire. I think he got in trouble for some fisty cuffs and I never knew a thing about it!  Does anyone have fuller access who could tell me more? I was having a break from family research so don't want to buy a subscription for an article or two

The link I have is:

https://www.findmypast.co.uk/image-viewer?issue=BL%2F0004052%2F19670915&page=20&article=309&stringtohighlight=fouldes

Be lovely to find out more! It was way before he met my Mum, so I can't ask her (and she hated my Dad!) and my Dad himself passed away in 2020.

Thanks all
MJ

PS There's also an interesting article about, I assume my Grandad, not getting A turkey!  All I can see is “It was unfortunate that Mr Fouldes did not get his turkey,”
This was on 02 January 1973
In the Lincolnshire Free Press, Spalding, Lincolnshire.

I'm late to this thread, but I may have found some more children:

1788 12 21   Shelford - Mary, d of James and Elizabeth Foulds
1792 03 15   Lambley - Sarah, d of James and Betty FOULDS
1794 02 09   Lambley - Thos., son of James and Betty   Foulds
1796 10 23   Lambley - James, son of James and Betty FOULDS
then the Oxton baptisms start in 1798,with Henry's baptism, details of the rest all as already provided upthread.

Humphrey died as a baby: burial in Oxton, 1808 10 20   Humphrey   FOULDS   Inf   Oxton

Sorry I am responding all over the place here but this is what I had so far for their children - see screenshot. For some reason there were two Henry's which I can't think is right. Unless they lost one Henry and were so distraught that they wanted the name to live on?  Or I have gotten this all incorrect and I am happy to change it! I will happily add the additional data you have provided!

Cheers
MJ

That one was interesting as I have on my notes that James Fouldes and Elizabeth Bird married in Shelford on 7th September 1788. So if Mary was born 3 and a half months later it shows that they didn't wait for marriage to explore all the possibilities!!

Very interesting!

Gosh thank you for all that (including the following two messages)!! Supremely kind of you!!  I will look through these and add them to my family tree! So wonderful to have people on here who know what they are doing!!

Thanks again!

Another child bapt Oxton to James/Betty;
HUMPHREY 14 Oct 1808
(FreeREG)

If James married Elizabeth Bird 1788 there should be more children born 1789-1797 ish.

Burials;
08 Mar 1818 Oxton, ELIZABETH Foulds age 53, abode Oxton
(c 1765)
(FreeREG)

I think I need to see if there is a forum at Family Search as, even though I put in all those details for Betty and the baptism, I cannot find that record!

Thank you for posting here, I can but add those details in and hope I find the link eventually!

Thanks again!

Thank you. Oh that is a shame. I did hope the original document might show more. It's before the marriage certificates as well, so not a chance to find out more I guess. Also shame FS doesn't have something to link to but I can always leave a note saying where it is from.

Thanks again

Hi all. I was told, a while ago that my relative James Foulds married Elizabeth Bird in Shelford on 7th Sep 1788.

Hello all, been a while but I am back with just a quickie question. So, even though I KNOW the above details (thanks to a lovely person on here) I cannot find this record on familysearch.org even when I search using all the details I know! I wanted to link my source to a actual record AND check if there were any parents mentioned on said record?

If anyone can spot it and send me the link that would be amazing. That site is very useful but sometimes searches can be frustratingly hard!

Thanks to all

Father on marriage of John Gibson Fouldes is James , carpenter and for George  father is James, wheelwright so are John Gibson Fouldes & George Fouldes brothers?

Ahh yes!! I forgot about that branch! Yep Harry is Henry Fouldes, son of the first John Gibson and Sarah - brother of the second John Gibson.  I did already know that but with so many names the same - and not having looked at it for a while - I got muddled!  Thank you again!!
