Hi all

anyone know whether there is a collection or database of photos of Victorian Metropolitan Policemen. Rather a lot of my ancestors were in the Met police in the Victorian/Edwardian period and it would be nice to get some pics. (I've got a pic of an ancestor who was in the Norfolk Constabulary in the 1890s).

Thanks Mick

Hi all

Anyone know how I can contact the above.
On the 9th Dec I ordered some census and B/cert info from them but so far have not received anything, although the money has come out of my account. The info on the website said the documents would be sent via e-mail within 5 working days. I've tried phoning but its never answered and the e-mail link comes up with an error message. Also the website has changed slightly, before when you have found your required info, there was a link direct to a purchase page but now there's a link  to a contact page instead.
I'm sure theres a reasonable explanation, I'd just like to be able to contact them and find out what it is.
Any help greatly appreciated

Derry (Londonderry) / Sisters of Nazareth, Convents, Orphanages in Limavady
« on: Monday 13 November 06 20:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all

I'm trying to find where my mum grew up. She was born in 1924 in Clagan, Bellarena. Her mum died young and her dad being a seaman had to put her and her brother in a children's home. I was wondering if anyone knows of any Orphanages/ Children's homes in the Limavady area.
Also many years ago I was driving through London with my dad and we passed a place called Nazareth House and dad remarked he thought mum was brought up by 'those people'. She was never too keen on nuns I remember, so these two things make me think she may have been brought up by the Sisters of Nazareth or in a convent.
Any help greatly appreciated

Derry (Londonderry) / Correct place of birth
« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 15:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I'm trying to find out exactly where my mum was born but not having much luck. On her birth certificate the County is given as Derry, Registrars District Limavady then for place of birth Claggan, Bellarena.
I've found Bellarena in Derry but not Claggan, although I have found a Claggan in Tyrone and a Clagan in Derry, so I'm a bit confussed. Could the name have been changed over the years/ The DoB was 13/8/1924.

Any help greatly appreciated
