Durham / DAVISON FAMILY - Hartlepool [old side]
« on: Wednesday 21 March 07 10:56 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to trace Davison family: Isabella born 1851 to parents Robert Davison [Sea Pilot] born about 1819 and wife Ann about 1819.  Would there be other sister/brother? I found Isabella in 1870/71 marrying Francis Ward of Whitby.  I hope I'm on the right track.  Thank you. whpool

Dublin / John Harrison Ward - any records
« on: Wednesday 14 March 07 04:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I'm looking for any information of John Harrison Ward, born about 1820's, somewhere in Dublin County.  He married [I think] Elizabeth Stainthorp, but don't know if the marriage took place in Ireland or England.  I understand the story to be that he left Ireland with two brothers and possibly one sister and settled in Whitby, Yorkshire.  His trade was tailor - another brother being a sailmaker.  Any help would be appreciated. :) :) :)whpool

« on: Tuesday 27 February 07 09:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone - this is  real stab in the dark !!.  Family lore has it that three brothers Ward left Ireland in 1840's.  All tailors - perhaps went to Whitby Yorkshire, England.  I know there's not much chance, but :) :) :)you never know!  thanks for reading,

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Birth Record for Alexander Ross
« on: Sunday 25 February 07 07:52 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone please look up birth of Alexander Ross born 1855? in Nothumberland, Birtley.  This [I think] is my g.g.grandfather.  I always understood the Ross's came from Scotland - so why Birtley? would be interested to know his parents name to tie in with this Scottish? side. I then find him married in Bishop Auckland, Durham.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, whpool
