Canada / Where to start
« on: Saturday 03 August 13 16:03 BST (UK)  »
Yesterday I had a conversation with a close friend, who asked me to look at her family history ,in brief she had nothing to go on,
I found her dads birth as a double entry ,in 1950,
mother had married in 1949 to a Kenneth R Bailey,Barrow In Furness Lancashire,so I need to purchase the marriage certificate,
she remarries in 1954,
Now Kenneth R Bailey is supposedly a Canadian airman,
where do I even start in Canada to look for him,
Quite obviously he didn't stay around very long, for reasons unknown, and non of my business,
but can any one point me in a direction to look up his possible military record and entry from Canada into England, until we can get the marriage certificate, please,

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Help me to help others
« on: Thursday 20 September 12 11:33 BST (UK)  »
Each day I am asked by friends ,family and customers in my business to do family look ups,
I decided a little while ago to actually teach the basics for free, and set them of on a computer at our local library,
I think its more fun for people to do their own research ,and I do this for free in my spare time,
I do the basics and then show the person how to access records ,
But I am completely stuck on this one and the family background is a complete mystery

the person still living was born in Wedensbury Staffordshire,so not using her details,

her mother was born in Barrow in Furness,
Dorothy W Haynes ,1918 mother Brown,
Dorothy marries in Warwick in 1940
 and had one sister,

Her grandparents were,Kate and Thomas,
Kate Haynes dies in 1977 Barrow in Furness
her husband is supposed to be Thomas Haynes ,I cant find his marriage to Kate
and he supposedly went of to Africa and was not  heard of again,

If anyone can help me I will be back later,
as with out the marriage I cant even get started
Gillian

After reading this it sounds complicated,
I would like to just find the marriage of Thomas Haynes and a Kate Brown circa 1918

My Great Uncle Robert Edward Colenso, born Barrow In Furness
married Doris K Pittuck ,Tendring Essex 1929

Doris birth registered June 1910 Tendring Essex

I have searched for Doris in 1911 and failed to find her
I do not wish to contravene Rootschat policies on the 1911 census,I have access myself,I would just like a little help in tracking Doris down to her parents ,and home if possible,as I have failed to find her in 1911,
I have a little on their descendants through the Colenso one world project, but would like to know some more details about Doris,
