morning guys

does anybody know how accurate ancestry.co.uk and how and where they get there information from ?

the reason i ask is that i have just found my birth details on there and my middle name is spelt mahie and not marie my birth month is also wrong,so if thats an error of a 1980s birth im guessing theres probably many with 1900 entrys ?

Dublin / more murtagh children
« on: Saturday 12 May 12 11:48 BST (UK)  »
morning all

im hoping somebody can help me even more with a new murtagh headache  :D

margaret byrne married william murtagh 1917 dublin north and the only children i was aware of are

john joseph murtagh born may 1918
william murtagh born january 1929
* murtagh born 1925

i recently obtained a cutting of margarets death in 1965 and it states she left behind 3 sons and 2 daughters, considering william jnr died 5 days before her that rules him out as being one of 3 sons left behind.

untill reading about the 2 daughters i had no idea she had any as they was never a mention of them and my living aunty and uncle have no memorys of them.

can any body find the other 3 children please  :D

Dublin / margaret byrne
« on: Saturday 28 April 12 12:31 BST (UK)  »
ok im hoping somebody can help me with a headache ive had for 2 years and one im no closer to solving.

ive been  trying to find any information on my great grandmother margaret byrne who was born dublin jan 1900 and with that being a popular name the next hit i had was her marriage to william murtagh and childrens dobs etc

any how i  applied for a copy of her death certificate wich doesnt even give me anything apart from age at death 65 and what she passed of so ive spent months trying to get a copy of her birth  certificate to be informed she doesnt exist i then applied for a marrige certificate and was informed theres was 2 weddings in the same district in different months with the same names so i guess i could apply for both but without her birth certificate im no closer to finding out who she actualy is.

was it possible she was adopted and bryne was her adoptive name also is it possible she lied about her name age when she got married?

i know to some i sound pretty dumb but its a long story and the reason for lack of details is the fact my mother grew up in childrens homes etc, margaret is my great grandmother.

« on: Thursday 19 April 12 13:29 BST (UK)  »
ive recently gone back to the drawing board on 2 people i started researching last year as im having difficulties trying to trace there parents or even a correct dob for the people im looking for, last year i was given a lot of help with the 2 in general but no nearer to my enquirys and only recently when i was going over my information i noticed this,

  name: William Murtagh
  registration district:   Dublin North
  event type: Marriage
  quarter and year: Jul-Sep 1917
  volume number: 2
  page number:   482

  name: Margaret Byrne
  registration district:   Dublin North
  event type: Marriage
  quarter and year: Oct-Dec 1917
  volume number: 2
  page number: 487

the quarter months are different so are the page numbers,is it possibly a mistake or have i got the wrong marriage ?
