Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Conveyance c 1480 Latin (?)
« on: Wednesday 08 May 24 08:22 BST (UK)  »
Attached are two images of a conveyance document, but I have trouble with the script.
The name Robert Pype appears on at least two occasions, and I can see a few words, but not enough to string together in order to know what property is the subject of conveyance.
Can anyone assist please

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Latin 1344 (again) Scottish Roll
« on: Sunday 05 May 24 14:06 BST (UK)  »
I understand the gist of the attached extract for James de Pype, but am not able to make complete sense of it, partly due to poor copy, and partly because of some letters not understood by me. for example on the line beginning "Tweed" there are two words "tras nias" which I can't make sense.
Could someone please put this together for me.

I would appreciate assistance with part of this extract, namely lines 2 - 9 of the attached copy.
There are several words which I cannot decipher, especially names of Tenements.
Thank you.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Latin Teenement survey c1460
« on: Saturday 20 April 24 08:32 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone please help with this one?  It is an extract in Latin from a Survey, about 1460.
I do know that it is for a Tenement called "Jopes" in Hadlow, Kent in the name of John A Barton.  I am wondering if it tells me anything of relevance to him.  If it is the person I think it is, then he would have lived to 85/90.  Is that uncommon for that time?
This unfortunately is the best copy I can produce, which may exclude the notes in the right margin.

Thamkyou for any help.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Probate comment - 1530
« on: Tuesday 16 April 24 07:35 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me what this Probate statement says.
It is at the end of a will dated 1530 for John A Barton in Kent.
I believe it refers to Mallyng (Malling, Kent).

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / 1554 will beginning & Probate
« on: Friday 12 April 24 08:09 BST (UK)  »
I have attached two short extracts from a will (1554 English).
This will beginning is for John Barton of Hadlow, the probate (in Latin) being 1559, I think.
I would greatly appreciate assistance with these.  The will is 9 pages long, but I thought it somewhat unreasonable to ask for all of that!
The two extracts are attached.
Michael
