Much appreciated Boo.
I don't really know if he died,a family member always believed he was on the war memorial but nobody really knows what happened.
I'm going to keep this on my to do list and the record is very interesting.

Much appreciated Boo. The record is really not clear and until this I have been having trouble finding him after the 1911 England and Wales census.
I know there could be a Sunderland connection as his sister Annice lived there when she grew up and his Dad also died in Sunderland so i have been searching to see if he could have ever been in the area.

Thank you, Boo. I have the same record.
The service number is 66994 name Joseph Elliott,Lime Street, Waldridge Fell, Chester le Street. His dad is also Joseph.
It is not known exactly what happened to Jospeh although he was talked about he was never seen.

This is a long shot but I did find a Military record on Ancestry for a Joseph Elliott at age 20,Chester-le-street. I am wondering if this could be him in 1915?
Not to sure about the trade?

I found this and I am wondering if it could be the father of Samuel Kilday Alexander:
ALEXANDER Sam Adult M 1895 Liverpool USA Boston
ALEXANDER Saml Adult M 1900 Londonderry USA New York
With all the information I have from the 1891 census, this caught my attention especially the spelling of Saml. Am I am going down the wrong path?
