Australia / LOOKING FOR ANYTHING ON NORAH NIXON (nee DOWLING ) after 1953
« on: Tuesday 10 December 13 12:56 GMT (UK)  »
I have managed to trace Norah Dowling born 1893 in Melborne who married Archibald Duncan P Nixon on 12th June 1916 in the Congregational church, Dowling Street,  Moore Park, Sydney. Archibald died 5th November 1953 in Mosnan NSW.
How do I find if they had any children or when Norah died?

Many thanks Sandra. I agree with your comments. Must see if I can find any divorce or re-marriage for Hope.

Sorry if you feel I have wasted your time, I certainly had no intention of doing so. I was trying to see if anyone had any actual info on the marriage date and place

The Manning in Hope Manning Larkin I believe relates to her father's mothers maiden name which was Manning.
Hope this may clarify the situation. It does not therefore refer to her first husbands surname as I first intimated.

If you were looking on the Arnold family tree, then this is my family tree and it does have photos of Sarah with all her other christian names and of her daughter Hope Larkin.

Many thanks for all of your contributions to this enquiry.
Sarah was given a number of christian names including Shirley , Veronica etc and was definitely born in Liverpool. The family moved to Revere in Boston just prior to 1900. She then moved to New York and I have a copy of an article in the New York Times dated 1912.
I am pleased to see that she was married in about 1914, but so far no record of any marriage has been found.

Thanks for the info.
This is exactly the information I have including the names of 2 witnesses.
Just hoped I could have got places of birth from any record that existed.
Many thank.
