Does anyone have access to this 1986 publication by the OGS and can do a lookup? Thank you.

Thanks for your reply, doddsie4.  My assumption that Margaret Drummond was buried in the Necropolis is, therefore, incorrect.
On the complete page for Margaret's death the column with this word "Neceplous" is blank for all other entries except three: and those three have the words "Barrony Session" written in them. So does this suggest a residence or something else?
If (and this is again an assumption on my part) this Margaret was the wife of "my" Alexander Drummond, then he was noted in the 1788 Cart Tax Rolls as living in Bog Acre which was a bleachfield very close to the Necropolis.
In the 1789 Female Servant Tax Rolls there was a Margaret Drummond, servant to a Mrs. Barr in Division 4 College Street west side from Rottenrow, etc. Possibly the same Margaret.

Right on.  And you are correct- these land records are confusing and hard to find.

I didn't scroll through many pages. There are only 16 concessions in Alice Township so an "A" or a "B" concession will be either at the beginning or end of the book. I found it quite quickly, at the end.
Was this James married to Jane in 1867? (also on Family search).

If you click on the abstract link then scroll down to Alice Township you will see a grey coloured "square box" to the far right. That is the link to the images.

I also looked at the Land Tax Assessment rolls for Alice in 1869 and he is mentioned but the word "left" is entered in the residence column so he moved elsewhere. The 1871 census has a James Knott in nearby Pembroke but I don't know if it's the same James.

If you go to the Family Search catalogue and search for Renfrew County you will see a link to the Abstract Index Books. Image # 271 (out of 373 images) has Lot 13, Concession A, Alice Township. It was patented from the Crown to Robert Graham the younger in 1870. I do not see James Knott's name anywhere. But the map you refer to is an 1863 Wallings map, so he was definitely on that lot, then.

Perhaps you could send me a private message with your ancestry DNA username and maybe we have a mutual ancestor from Clough? Thanks.
