Hi
In 1939 Miss Levack resided in Flat 1 at 77, Marylebone High Street
London Post Office Directory and also 1939 Register
Up until 1956 she appears to live in Wimbledon and then marries?

Berkshire Record Office hold the historical copies of Yellow Pages but they don't seem to be available online.

Good morning Rebel, I tried to post a reply and it went down a hole somewhere, you may get 2 replies from me.  I did manage to find Jane Levack on Ancestry in 1939 residing at that address and it had her occupation as Nurse (Territorial Army).  i was intrigued by the "Levack Clinic" status and wonder now whether it was a Nursing Clinic??  She did go on to marry later in life (age 55) to a Percival Lyons in Jan 1956 in Hove, Sussex but unfortunately her husband only lived for a further 3 months.  Jane's last address is in Hove, before passing at the grand age of 92 .. not bad for a young lass from the North of Scotland.  I have also now discovered a probate entry in Ancestry for her .. what does this mean? She had no family herself so not sure who would have benefitted from her will.  Many thanks everyone on here, you're all brilliant.  It's like a jig-saw puzzle until you find the last piece...  Regards all, Gollach

Lots of clinics in that area (Harley Street is very close).

Was he a doctor? If so check the medical registers. Ancestry's collection goes up to 1959.

Thank you for responding.  No the lady was a Nurse and the Clinic was the Levack Clinic.  I have an account with Ancestry so what would I search under? please.  Many thanks.

Hi everyone, I have a relative who set up a Clinic in Marylebone High Street, Welbeck, London in the 1940s/50s ... how would I go about finding out what this Clinic was?  is there a register of businesses/ clinics that I can go through somewhere?
Many thanks in advance.

The Common Room / Re: Getting a photo of a grave in Montreal

…I had to wait until about April last year to get it, as the graveyard was covered with snow when I wrote just before that!

I had the same experience when I asked for a photo from Ontario, Canada.  They very kindly sent the photo once the snow melted.

Note: parts of North America have had a lot of snowfall this year.  At this time, Montreal supposedly will also have a late spring.

Thank you, yes I suppose we forget how bad the winters can be in Canada.

The very nice people at Mount Royal Cemetery took a photograph of a grave for me and sent it to me.

You could email Nilton Freitas at nfreitas@mountroyalcem.com quoting the plot number.
He is 'Assistant des Operations du Cimitiere'.,

Thank you so much.  That's very kind of you.

Thank you for quick reply.  Tried to get on to that site but wouldn't let me register for some reason but I will try again now that I know for sure I can ask on there.
