Berkshire Lookup Requests / Tame Marriage Lookup
« on: Thursday 30 July 09 20:52 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help with the witnesses/Bondsman if any to a marriage of William Tame & Phillis Weston in Abingdon St.Helens 1690 please.
I realise that at that date there may not be witnesses or bondsman listed but the OFHS transcriptions of the PR's don't list anything anyway.

Thanks you

Thanks very much for that, the Tames were a long shot anyway.

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / WESTON / TAME Hannington?
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 16:15 BST (UK)  »
Hello
If anyone has the Hannington registers I'd be grateful for confirmation of the Bap of Phillis Weston, about 1663 I think?
I'm pretty sure she went on to marry a Tame from East Hendred, Berks but it would be interesting to know if there were any Tame BMD's in Hannington in the 17th C?
Thanks
Tom

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Re: William Tame Will East Hendred

Thanks
I've never found one either so either it was missed or it's in a parish that's not covered although I'd be very surprised if it wasn't within a couple of miles of either of the Hendreds.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / William Tame Will East Hendred
« on: Friday 26 June 09 14:49 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help with locating a will for a William Tame of East Hendred who died betweeb 1700 and 1723 I think.
This relates to the link below where it was mentioned as have being found.  I have been through the original registers of E.Hendred and can find no burial althouth I did find the burial of Phillis who was mentioned as the wife of Thomas and not William?

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,352760.0.html

I'm pretty sure this William is my direct ancestor but I'm unable to definitaly prove he's the father of Thomas Tame who marries Alice Edney in 1726 in Abingdon St.Helens.

Thankyou

Further to your request to find the marriage of Thomas and Esther I'm coming across a lot of TAMEs who's marriages are not recorded where you would expect, all between 1650 and 1730 or so.  It makes me suspect that there could have been a family tradition of using a certain parish church which we haven't yet looked at.
One thing I have found is that East Hendred has a gap between 1688-1694, maybe we're just unlucky?

Has anyone come accroess the burial of a Richard TAME between 1689 and 1750, he was living in Marcham in the 1680's but wasn't buried there.

Thanks
I've looked through all the indexes at the BRO and haven't found the one I was hoping to find which made me think that maybe it wasn't in the parish records as it's not in the OFHS indexes for that part of Berks/Oxon either.
I've left that for later as I'm still trying to find the birth place of the Thomas Tame who married Alice Edney (see above) who was married at Ab St.Helens and 'of' the parish of Milton.  Unfortunately he wasn't born there and his burial record in Harwell (or will) didn't even record an age.

Thanks Alan
I checked there and nothing as you found, what is interesting is that the Berk Marriage Index there still do not cover all the parishes which is frustrating!
