Hi
According to SP, Margaret Pitcairn died 14th May 1862 in Carnbee, Fife, and was the daughter of Andrew Beveridge and Euphemia Hind (sic).
She was born on 13th March 1819, in Dunfermline.

Durham / Andrew Brooksbank & Mary Coatman
« on: Sunday 02 June 13 17:47 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for further information on Andrew Brooksbank and Mary Coatman.
My 2x Great Grandparents, Andrew Brooksbank and Elizabeth Simpson,  married in Trimdon, Co. Durham on June 30th, 1862. Andrew is described as a Widower.
Andrew died in 1869 in Calverley, Yorkshire and in the 1871 Census, Elizabeth is listed with four children:  Andrew born c 1863; Elizabeth born 1865; Charles born 1868, all Yorkshire, and Mary born C 1857 in Durham.
Mary Ann Bowerbanks was born to Andrew Bowerbanks and Mary nee Coatman in Coxhoe, Co. Durham on February 18th, 1857, with Lancelot Bowerbank born to the same couple on December 31st, 1859. This family is list as Bowbank in the 1861 census living in Quarrington, Co. Durham.
I have been unable to find any record of a marriage between Andrew and Mary, or of a death for Mary in the period 1861 – 1862.
However, I did find a marriage between a Mary Coatman and a William Best  in 1862 in Durham. In the 1871 Census they are shown with a son aged 11 named Lancelot.
Can anyone provide any further information on Mary Coatman or confirm my suspicions that Andrew and Mary never actually married.
Thanks
Charlie

I am looking for later information on Alexander Shepherd, born 22/07/1830 in Dunfermline to Adam Shepherd and Betsy Herd.

He married Ann Johnstone on 13/10/1851 and had at least 1 child, Cathrine, born in 1854.

In 1855, he married Janet Marshall in either Falkirk or Muiravonside.
I believe they had the following children:
Jane born 26/09/1856 in Saline.
Betsy Herd born 21/11/1858 in Dunfermline
Unnamed twins born prematurely 04/02/1861 in Dunfermline
Margaret born 14/02/1862 in Fossoway
Ann Herd born 10/03/1864 in Saline
Alexander born 27/03/1866 in Dunfermline
James Marshall born 12/05/1868 in Dunfermline and died 27/04/1869 in Tillicoultry
Agnes Walker born 08/04/1870 in Alva and died 28/10/1870 in Tillicoultry
John Miller born 03/02/1872 in 03/02/1872 in Tillicoultry
Mary Beveridge born 07/09/1873 in Tillicoultry

In 1861, the family is in Bathgate and in 1871 in Tillicoultry.
Then I lose them. I think they emigrated, but do not know where to.

Any help in completing the later history of this family would be much appreciated.
