I would suggest that the Edward Nichols death 4Q 1861 Wycombe V3a P240 is your man.  Little Marlow/Hedsor are in Wycombe district.  Did he have other Little Marlow area family that may have registered the death? He seems to be living apart (though not very far apart!) from his wife and children in 1861.
