Thanks for your reply and interest.  I don't know when Harry was born, presumably about the same time as his wife (1877) and in the UK.   Lewis could be Louis I suppose, and I think he was born in the USA approximately 1913.  I suppose Douglas could be spelled Douglass.   Fanny and Lewis visited the family in the UK in the 1920s. so should appear on some kind of passenger lists.   I really have tried hard to find any record of these folk, my 97year old father wonders what became of his cousin Lewis.  The last we heard was that they lived in Providence, Rhode Island in the 1950s.
Sorry I really don't have any more information.   Best wishes.

US Lookup Requests / Re: Jacobs (Dekota) family

Thanks again for your reply and the additional information.  Yes I had seen something about an Ezekiel but wondered if it was her father-in-law or brother-in-law as I have a definite record of her marriage to John G J Dekota/John G Jacobs in June 1920 and that would fit with the family information passed on by relatives.  My Jane couldn't be married in 1916 as she was only born in 1895, and was still living in England in 1916.    As you say - it gets more and more complicated.  Perhaps if I could get into contact with her daughter born 1921, or her descendents, it would clarify the situation.  Once again, many thanks for your help.   Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks for your very quick reply.  Yes, this is a bit of a puzzle to me also.  On a marriage entry I found the husband listed as both Dekota, John G.J. and also Jacobs John G.   Their daughter was named both Dekota and also Jacobs-Dakota,  (*) (note the mis-spelling of Dekota and Dakota.  Any other references to them I have seem to have dropped the Dakote/Dekota part.  I did find a death of Jane S. Jacobs bn. 1894 in "other country", died in 1976 in Los Angeles.  Also a record of a (*) I hope you can see my problem here.  I am hoping someone just recognises some part of the names, I would love to know if there are any descendents in US.   Hope this answers your query in part.  Sorry for the confusion - its confusing me too!!   Best wishes.
