The 1871 census entry for 35 Beaufort Street shows
Thomas Evans head 39 Caernarvonshire, Wales
Margaret wife 39
Ann 14 daughter
Margaret 9 daughter
Thomas 10 son
All born Lancashire
Peter Dawson, Martin Burns and William Lockin, boarders also all born Lancashire
There is a 51 and 53 Beaufort Street but I can't see a 52. ???

The marriage cert says 18 years and upwards making Jane's age anything between 18 and 21 years. If she was born 1771/72 she would have been 19 or 20 years of age and she would still a minor.

Cheshire / Re: Daniel Craven of Eaton - Dead men can vote!

I wonder why Daniel was buried at Whitegate when is wife Elizabeth who we think d1845, daughter Martha d1847 and grandson Henry d1843 were all buried at Eaton.
It is of course possible that Daniel was living with is son Thomas at the time of his death in 1848 but
you would need his death cert to be completely certain that you have the right chap.

Voters Name, Daniel Craven,  abode Eaton, nature of qualification leasehold house, name of tenant George Brookes.  (I read this as Daniel was renting from George Brookes but how could he me eligible to vote for three years after he had died?  There wasn’t a son named Daniel.)
I'm reading this as George Brookes as the tenant and Daniel owning the freehold of the property.
Not that it helps because I don't know why it would still be in his name if he had died.  ::)

Edit. I mistakenly posted freehold rather than leasehold.

Have you found her in 1851,is she described as widowed?
I can't see Elizabeth on the 1851 census but there is a possible burial for her...

Yes, congrats from me also. :)
I have passed Christchurch a couple of times and seen the plaque, well done.
Some years ago I was helping someone with their tree and George Burgess and his murder did touch on it, a really sad case and as you say, so similar to Jamie Bulger.
Thanks for posting your update. :)

I think anything is possible with this one ???
I'm not sure that I'm correct with any of the records I've posted, they just seem to connect.
Both the !891 and 1901 census look suspect to me with the Ansborough brothers being step son on one and foster sons on the other one and then 1901 shows a daughter Caroline but I don't think she is Elizabeth's daughter ::)
It's possible that John may not have died but for some reason left the family home in which case Elizabeth couldn't have remarried and I can't see any other marriage for her. ???
Perhaps you could try tracing Daniel after 1891 see if you can find more about him.
If the 1880 marriage for Dooling is correct then the marriage cert might throw some light on it.
